Statement_The fragmentation of society and the changes that have occurred due to the presence of migrant and dynamic communities, challenge previous monocultural lifestyles. An orderly and divided into classes society has been replaced by a society composed by groups, a new and multifaceted reality and the particular sensibility for rapid change.
All these, not in despite of having an address -how we exist on society, how be become citizens, where we receive or mail, where our family and friends can contact us-our house is where we validate this existence in the physical space. A shelter that protect us and our intimate space.
Shellhouse-[living portable] raises questions about mobile communications and technology development, access, online communities, social networks and DIY culture.
It is possible to DIY for someone else.
Description_ SHELLHOUSE-[living portable] is collapsible cardboard shelter with radio devices for homeless people, providing them of a portable address.
A central node receives RF from each shelter, assigning it a number on a screen, which highlights whenever the shelter “calls”. The circuit on the shelter has 2 buttons that could be 2 options of call (i.e. food, health emergency) and that appear on the screen with 2 different colors (orange blue).
The instructions to build the shelter and the circuit are available online, as a DIY project.
